With the PharmaCann merger now scrapped, MedMen will report its fiscal 2019 fourth-quarter results next week and many industry insiders wonder if MedMen can rebound at some point in the future.
I can remember last year the stock market frenzy around pot stocks, even my Mom called me and asked whether it was a good idea to invest in them. Lessons learned from the .com crash, I told her to stay away from cannabis companies until stock valuations were based on actual performance and not pure speculation. Considering things like EBIDA come to mind….
It wasn’t always this way for MedMen… These were exciting times and they were in the media everywhere, MedMen was cool and the future of marijuana retail was bright.

Cannabis stocks since then have tanked, this emerging market is growing up fast and many companies are going to disappear. So where does this leave the Apple Store of Pot?
MedMen has applied for more licenses and plans to have 30 stores up and running by the end of 2020, but likely won’t even be profitable for a couple of years if they survive that long. Everyone will be anxiously watching to see where this all goes.
